World and Religious Leaders adopt Document on Human Fraternity and Reaffirm its Enhancement of Mutual Respect and Peace

The Document on Human Fraternity, which was co-signed by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders along with His Holiness Pope Francis, Pontiff of the Catholic Church under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates has been adopted by delegates at the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan.

The conference’s closing remarks have affirmed the document’s importance and its role in enhancing peace, dialogue, understanding and mutual respect between people.

The 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was held on the 14th and 15th of September 2022 in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan and under the theme, ‘The role of leaders of world and traditional religions in the spiritual and social development of mankind in the post-pandemic period’. The event hosted a total of 108 religious and world leaders from 60 different countries and was attended by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as well as His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pontiff of the Catholic Church.
