2022 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity Ceremony

Hosted at the Founder’s Memorial in Abu Dhabi, Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan and Haitian humanitarian organization FOKAL (Foundation for Knowledge and Liberty) were honored in a private ceremony for their work exemplifying human fraternity.

ABOUT THE EVENT

In a private ceremony held at the Founder’s Memorial in Abu Dhabi, the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity awarded Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and the Haitian humanitarian organization Foundation for Knowledge and Liberty (FOKAL) the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity 2022.

The ceremony was attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Ayman Safadi, Jordanian Foreign Minister, and members of the Higher Committee, and Zayed Award judging committees.

The ceremony included remarks from honorary co-recipients of the award, His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, and HCHF Secretary-General Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam.

The honorees of the 2022 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity are: Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdulla and FOKAL, the Foundation for Knowledge and Liberty from Haiti

The Judging Committee

The independent judging committee is appointed by the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity. Each year, the judging committee is composed of a group of prominent figures in the area of peacebuilding and human coexistence.
